The Discovery Place Kids that is located in downtown Huntersville, North Carolina is nearing completion for its fall opening. The building is an $18.7 million dollar private-public project that will house the Discovery Place Kids on the first two floors and town offices on the third floor. There is a 3 level parking deck that will complete the outside. The developer also plans to add another 3 story building on the Discovery Place Kids lot that will house restaurants, offices and other retailers.
Discovery place will have seven themed areas that will offer fun and educational activities and exhibits. The Discovery Place Kids expects to draw families from the Lake Norman region to visit often each year. The museum will be for children up to 7 and 8.
