Highgate is an upscale neighborhood located in Weddington, just minutes to South Charlotte and Matthews. Some of the best builders in the luxury market have built in here: Harrington, The Dowd Company, Arcadia Homes & Grimmer-Kemp to name a few.
Although there are no amenities (except for walking trails), there are several country clubs within a short drive. Lots are spread out and well manicured and the variety of home styles is very pleasing. Highgate is in an award winning school district as well.
In the past six months in Highgate, six homes have sold at an average price of $888,000 for 5300 htd sq ft. The original average list price was $957,000. Currently the homes on the market average from $600-1.8M. For more information, please go to Weddington Real Estate.
If you had $600-650,000 to spend on a home, would you pick a tract builder where every third neighbor has the same house OR would you score a deal on a custom home loaded with upgrades in a luxury community???
Hadley Park features elegant European style homes with quality custom builders. The stone/stucco/brick exteriors give a lot of originality to the neighborhood. And the interiors have fabulous kitchens with lots of architectural detail. The neighborhood features a community pond and walking trails-although there is no community pool or clubhouse, there are several different country clubs all within a few miles. And of course the YMCA or Weddington Swim Club as well.
When sales peaked in 2007, the average price for 4440 sq ft sold for $800,600. In 2008 the average price for 4259 sq ft sold for $677,500 and in 2009 the average sales price was $582,000!
Besides a beautiful home, Hadley Park is in Weddington which neighbors Matthews and Charlotte and 485 is close by as well. This neighborhood is worth taking a look at!
Tired of driving thru half finished new construction neighborhoods that resemble ghost towns? Well this neighborhood makes for a great alternative! Most homes in Blackstone were completed around 2002-2003 so the neighborhood is complete with established yards and great amenities.
Built by Shea, Blackstone is located in the center of Wesley Chapel with shopping, eateries, and sports facilities close by. These full brick homes have 4-5 bedrooms and the average 4000 sq ft home sells for around $410,000. Some of Shea’s most popular floorplans- the Sausalito and Silverado- are available here. The yards are anywhere from a half acre to almost an acre giving you room to stretch out.
Blackstone is also in one of the most desirable school zones- Wesley Chapel Elementary, Weddington Middle and Weddington High School. Matthews, Monroe and Charlotte are an easy commute as well.
The other benefits of buying a resale home in an established neighborhood over new construction are the window treatments are usually all in place (a huge expense), the yard is not a muddy mess, sometimes fences are already in place and you don’t have to pay start up fees for the HOA which is already established. Blackstone should definitely be on your list if you are considering buying a home in Wesley Chapel.
