Hough High School Name Finally Put to Rest in Cornelius!
It is official…The new high school on Bailey Road in Cornelius will be named W.A. Hough (pronounced “huff”) High School. A second attempt trying to sway the board of education to reconsider the name failed. Several parents and students pleaded their support for both sides of the issue but in the end the motion failed by a 7-2 vote.
The school will open for the 2010-2011 year. A much needed relief in Northern Mecklenburg county where overcrowding is a problem in North Mecklenburg High School and Hopewell High school in Huntersville.
Some of the neighborhoods that will be feed in to W.A. Hough High Are: The Peninsulia, Caldwell Station and Antiquity in Cornelius. Summers Walk, River Run and Bailey Springs in Davidson. The Hamptons, Wynfield and Birkdale in Huntersville.

Heritage Green, a Fabulous Neighborhood in Cornelius, North Carolina
Heritage Green is a neighborhood connected to the north side of Huntersville NC and is very affordable and selling like hotcakes. Homes are priced from the mid 100K to just over 200K. With 16 homes sold since the beginning of June it is absolutely worth a look. Heritage Green is getting a lot of attention for many reasons such as quality of schools, parks, Lake Norman, convenience to great restaurants and shopping. Equity and the anticipation of gain on your investment is another reason. Huntersville was named the second best place to live in the country just a few weeks ago and for a good reason. As homes sell at such a fast pace property values tend to stay solid and go up in value.
Heritage Green is just a few minutes to I-77 and about 15 miles to Uptown Charlotte. Davidson NC is on the north side of Cornelius bringing a good mix of convenience and cultural arts to the residents of Heritage Green. This neighborhood only has a few lots left before it sells out. After that time you will only be able to purchase pre-owned homes and I expect homes prices to gingerly go up after that time.
